Whew! A lot of reflection these past few days. Thought I would share my journey.
I took a mental health vacation to do my favorite things and to take a break from my stressors.
I went to Nashville by myself for three of my favorite things. Live music, basketball, and alone time.
I wasn’t in a great mental place the past week or so (mainly because of school stress). So I took time to myself to reflect and meditate. I did a lot of deep diving into getting older and accepting that truth. What do I want my life to look like? What do I want my priorities to be as I age (gracefully?)? What does my future dream self need from me now?
I enjoyed my time and realized how much I needed that break!!! I met amazing ladies everywhere I went!! And noted that they got to meet me too!! I realized I am not the former, younger Jessica who lived THAT life. I am a different, older Jessica who lives THIS life.
But… ironically, as much of my reflection was about aging… I freaking FELL DOWN while walking to my hotel last evening!!!! Talk about feeling old!!!! I have an injured ankle and feeling “old” hit me in the face today as I hobbled around the airport!!!
I know things aren’t as easy as they used to be, and today was a reminder.
I have been doing so much to get healthier and stronger and fitter as well as my mindfulness work. But I was reminded this weekend that I am not doing enough to be that strong, fit middle-aged woman I want to be!!!
So my priorities shifted this weekend!! And I am ready to roll back the clock!!!! (Not a daylight saving time pun!!!
) And I am ready to get STRONG!!!! ![]()
Anyone else dealing with the truth of getting older??
